How a Pinterest board turned into a Western belt line
Scrolling through Pinterest, I couldn't understand why my outfits weren't 'pin worthy'. I even made an entire board of outfits that I could — in theory — recreate using items already in my closet. But, time and again, they just kept falling flat.
It wasn't until I looked a bit closer and noticed that the accessories were doing the heavy lifting in each pin I had reposted on Pinterest. It was the accessories giving each outfit that WOW factor and showcasing the woman's personality and creativity.
But, the artsy, unique belts that I was most drawn to were always way over my budget, often $200-300 for just one belt. I paid $200 for one of them once. The gold faded within a year — on the most expensive piece in most of my outfits. I knew I could do better. I could design my own line of unique belts at a more reasonable price, making my style discovery more accessible to other women.
So if your outfits keep coming out flatter than the pin you saved, here's what I learned the hard way: it was never the jeans. It was the belt she was wearing and you weren't.
